Made for the way you work
Checkpoints and rewind
Try a direction without losing your place. When you revise a prompt, a checkpoint can put the files back before the agent tries again.
In practice
A useful place to start
An edit took the wrong approach. Change the earlier prompt and resend, or restore the latest checkpoint, then work from the earlier file state.
A file starting point
Pumpkin records a checkpoint before work in a supported Git workspace. It gives a later restore a known file state to return to.
Revise the request
Edit and resend combines a revised message with restoring that earlier workspace state. You can explore a different approach without manually undoing each agent edit.
Keep normal source control
Checkpoints support chat-level recovery alongside your usual commits and branches. They do not replace a reviewed commit history or backups.
Get started
Use edit and resend on an earlier message when you want to change direction. Read the restore prompt and check the affected files before proceeding.
Good to know
Checkpoint support needs Git. Rewind can affect later file changes and cannot undo sent messages, database writes, deployments, purchases, or other external effects.
