Made for the way you work
Plans, goals, and progress
Make the work concrete before it grows. Plans and visible progress keep the agent and you pointed at the same outcome.
In practice
A useful place to start
Ask for a feature plan with the files to change and the checks to run. Read the plan, start the build when ready, and follow the steps as they complete.
A plan you can read
Plan mode gives larger work a place to define scope, choices, and verification. The plan remains a visible artifact that can be updated as the work changes.
Track real steps
A structured task list shows what is active, done, or still pending. Completed work stays distinct from things blocked on a question or a running job.
Keep the goal in view
For longer work, an explicit goal helps carry the intended result across turns. Where a goal budget is set, usage and status help make the cost of continued work visible.
Get started
Start in Plan mode for work that needs a design first. Read the plan, use Build to begin, and check the task list as the agent works.
Good to know
A plan is not proof that a change is correct. Review the output and checks, and keep any required human review distinct from the initial decision to build.
